Vance T. Stephens
Vance T. Stephens is a Higher Education Ph.D. student at the Rutgers Graduate School of Education and research associate at the Rutgers Center for Minority Serving Institutions and the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Institute for Leadership, Equity, and Justice. His research interests intersect at the philosophical and sociocultural contexts of postsecondary education; systems and policy change; and faculty and administrator experiences at HBCUs, MSIs, and PWIs. Vance earned his A.B. in sociology from Princeton University, J.D. and M.B.A. from Rutgers University, where he was an Eagleton Graduate Fellow in Politics and Government, and Ed.M. in Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship from Harvard University, where served as a summer fellow with the Harvard Project on Workforce. Prior to the Ph.D. program, he worked for ten years at Princeton University in graduate and undergraduate admission and financial aid roles. He also clerked in the New Jersey Superior Court.
