Sibby Anderson-Thompkins

Sibby Anderson-Thompkins is the Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Chief Diversity Officer at Sewanee (The University of the South). In this role, she oversees the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, which includes the Sewanee Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Center, the Office of Inclusive Excellence, the Multicultural Student Center, and the offices of Equity and Equal Opportunity, ADA and Title IX. Dr. Anderson-Thompkins is a recognized regional and national leader with thirty years as a senior-level administrator in higher education with extensive experience leading diversity, equity, and inclusion-related initiatives and campus-wide strategic planning, faculty, staff, and student diversity and professional development. She has held deanships in student affairs and academic advising at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Hampshire College, and Agnes Scott College. Before arriving at Sewanee, she served as the special advisor to the Chancellor and Provost for equity and inclusion and interim chief diversity, and longtime director of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and the Carolina Postdoctoral Program For Faculty Diversity at UNC Chapel Hill.
