Rebecca Perdomo

Rebecca Perdomo is an experienced social science consultant and research professional. She has written reports, created dashboards, and served as a content editor for the University of Georgia’s (UGA) Carl Vinson Institute of Government, Rutgers Center for Minority Serving Institutions, the Samuel Dewitt Proctor Institute for Leadership, Equity, and Justice, and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU). Rebecca uses quantitative and qualitative methods to address equity in education with a focus on Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), federal funding, and marginalized students. As a Latina from an immigrant family, she is driven to serve and advocate on behalf of her community.

Using her research to inform policy, she previously served as HACU’s Director of Policy Analysis, where she created content based on her research and engaged with stakeholders to advocate on behalf of HSIs and the students they serve. Recognized for its innovative approach to making HSI information accessible to students, parents, and policymakers alike, Forbes featured the HSI dashboard she created in 2021.

Rebecca’s background is in philosophy (bachelor of arts, University of Central Florida '15) and sociology (bachelor of arts, UCF'15; master of arts, UGA '17), and her Ph.D. is in higher education policy and administration (UGA ’19). She has presented her research at the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), Cambio de Colores, the Southern Sociological Society and for American Institutes for Research (AIR), guest lectured at the Universities of Georgia and Florida, and at Wayne State University, and co-authored an article in Race Ethnicity and Education.
