Kimberly White-Glenn

Kimberly White-Glenn, Ph.D., is an award-winning educator and multitalented creative. Her passion for motivation, education, and inspiration are exemplified in her creative and academic endeavors. Kimberly is an artist, author, speaker, educational consultant, life coach, and mentor. Throughout her many years of educational service, Kimberly functions in the “teaching to transgress” paradigm. She has consulted in diverse school districts across the United States including private, public, rural, and urban communities. She currently holds a position as an assistant professor of education. Her areas of specialization include using African American studies and African American literacies (both traditional and hip-hop) to promote student achievement. Kimberly’s multidimensional approaches to pedagogy and art reflect her stance on the power of infusing content and curricula and the importance of abolitionist learning experiences and an abolitionist teaching motif. Using her platform, she continues to encourage educators of the importance of Culturally Responsive Pedagogy, amplifying and honoring students’ voices to reverse underachievement and miseducation, despite the contemporary attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion. In all her endeavors, Kimberly embodies the ethos of empowerment, transformation, and advocacy while inspiring, educating, and motivating organizations and audiences to enlist in the pursuit of a more equitable and enlightened world. Kimberly’s most recent work Secure the Bag is a book that seeks to include women in the forgotten biblical narrative. Kimberly is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and currently resides in Huntsville, Alabama.
