Jay Guillory

Jay Guillory (he/him/his) currently serves as a Success Coach in the Office of Student Success and Retention at Southern Methodist University. As a first-generation college graduate and first-generation doctoral student. Jay received his BA in History from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and his M.Ed in Educational Leadership with a focus in Student Personnel Leaders from East Tennessee State University. Jay is currently a doctoral student in the Higher Education Administration program at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Before coming to Southern Methodist University, Jay worked at East Tennessee State University as a Graduate Assistant and worked his way to Assistant Director of the Mary V. Jordan Multicultural Center and Access and Student Success before leaving in May of 2022 to join the Intercultural Engagement and Leadership office at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Jay's current research interests focus on community influences on Black Male Students' Sense of belonging at Historically White Institutions.
