Janée Nicole

Janée N. Burkhalter, (she/her) brings a passion for social justice to her role as Associate Provost for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, along with 20 years of corporate, academic and administrative experience. Burkhalter has been devoted to the University’s mission of being an inclusive and diverse community since her arrival to SJU in 2009. She is co-chair for SJU’s Day of Dialogue, led the drafting of the University’s Inclusive Excellence Blueprint and served as SJU’s first Faculty Liaison for Inclusion & Diversity. As a Professor of Marketing, Burkhalter teaches and researches at the intersection of entertainment, marketing strategy and social media with a particular interest in Black culture and identity.
