Clover Baker Brown

Clover Baker Brown is a senior full/tenured professor at Prince George's Community College (PGCC), MD. An excellent communicator, leader, coach, and motivator with almost twenty years of experience in higher education, she has held several faculty leadership positions, including as vice president and president of the Faculty Senate (over 252 full-time and over 600 hundred part-time faculty), advisor to the faculty senate, chair of the Academic Council, academic coordinator/chair of the Communications, Public Relations, and Journalism program, and she currently serves on the President’s Cabinet as the only faculty. Working closely with the executive vice president and provost in an advisory role, Clover led the most successful faculty senate executive board under the theme “resetting the relationships between faculty and administration" and improved the faculty/administration relationship and organizational climate demonstrably. Clover is the first Black woman to serve as the president of the Maryland Communication Association and represent the state of Maryland on the National States Advisory Council for the National Communication Association. She is currently the vice-chair of the African American Communication and Culture Division as well as the inaugural Chair of the Caribbean Communication Caucus of the National Communication Association. Clover has been recognized as Who is Who in Teaching in America, the faculty of the year, best faculty advisor, and awarded the David P. James Excellence in faculty mentoring. She is a member of Montgomery Women and serves as a Commissioner for Montgomery County, MD. Clover holds three earned academic degrees, B.A. in Broadcast Journalism, M.A. in Organizational Communication, Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration, and she is in her last year of pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational leadership.
