C. Fred Higg

C. Fred Higgs, III is the John & Ann Doerr Professor of Mechanical Engineering and a Professor of Bioengineering at Rice University, where he is also the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. Since 2016, he has served as the Faculty Director of the Rice Center for Engineering Leadership. An Associate Editor for the Tribology Transactions journal, his research lab conducts computer modeling and experiments. A Fellow of ASME and AIMBE and a past winner of NSF CAREER and ASME Newkirk awards, he has been the advisor to nearly 120 undergraduate, 20 Masters, 20 doctoral, and 6 postdoctoral research students
