Crystal Smith-Morgan

Crystal Smith-Morgan is an Assistant Professor in the Professional Psychology & Family Therapy program at Seton Hall University and a licensed LMFT and LPC with clinical supervision credentials in both disciplines. She brings extensive experience in mental health, higher education, servant leadership, and governance at both the national and state levels. 

Her scholarship focuses on racial stress, systemic barriers, and developing culture-first resources that strengthen mental health care for Black communities and other priority groups. She is committed to advancing epistemology and expanding what is recognized as rigorous scholarship by elevating lived experience, cultural knowledge, and community-rooted practices as essential forms of evidence and expertise. 

Across her teaching, research, clinical practice, and leadership, Smith-Morgan supports emerging clinicians, scholars, and leaders in integrating internal strengths with their professional, racial, and cultural identities, promoting sustainable equity-centered, relational wellbeing within communities.
